He made every effort to include them in every aspect of the game drives and kept them entertained. Looking for animal tracks, explaining it to them and a whole lot more. “We visited 10 different private game lodges in South Africa and the very best was Lion’s Valley. Lesser known and located near Ladysmith it likely gets passed over by travellers who have only heard of Kruger Park. Their loss because everyting at Lion’s Valley was over the top. I’ve never considered giving a place 11 points out of 10 but I have to make the exception here. Our suite (Zebra) was beautiful, very large and private. The staff were exceptionally helpful and gracious and the guides were wonderful. Great animal sitings in one of the two most scenic game parks we’ve ever experienced (and we’ve been to many).”

“Went for 3 nights and was very impressed with the wildlife sightings, great accommodation, very friendly staff (quite exceptional actually) and good food. Saw 4 of the Big 5 plus plus. No distant sightings here – they are next to the vehicle! The suite is 20m long with amazing facilities.
Game vehicles are great and winter game drives come with blankets and hot water bottles. You need them. Much better than tracking all the way to Kruger.”
